Early Life
Sonnie Badu began his ministry at a very young age, singing in the capital of Ghana, Accra. Sonnie was raised under a strict Christian upbringing by his father and mother, Rev. and Mrs. Agyeman Badu, a prominent pastor in Accra. It was discipline established his life-long passion of service to the Lord. Although Sonnie Badu had been a worship leader from his youth, to all who knew him football was his gift. However any hopes of international football success were soon eclipsed when the Lord begun to turn this heart in His hands. His decision to become a gospel singer has to do not with him but God. With a close encounter with death at the age of 18 at Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS)  when he was struck with a deadly virus, as he lay on the hospital bed slipping in and out of consciousness, his mother sang hymns into his ear then he made a vow to rededicate his life to God if he pulls through. It seemed like an irresistible offer to the Lord as immediately he entered into that covenant, his body began to regain strength. After GSTS, Sonnie moved to London to pursue his promise to God; which is to serve God all the days of his life. This love was to be exhibited through music, so he schooled in music at Lewisham College. Little did he know that Lewisham College would pave a way for his music career some years on. At this juncture, ‘The Worshipper’ as he is known had been born.

Music Career
For Sonnie Badu, it is an honor and privilege to lead God’s people in the art of spiritual intimacy. His ministry symbolizes the presence of God and where God’s heart is, His hand will be. Testimonies of healing and breakthrough follow him wherever he administers. He is described as the young man with the golden voice; others esteem him for his ability to move audiences. However these talents find their greatest expression because of His Love for God.In rise of achievements, his hall of fame is replete with these significant laurels: he organized the first Africa worship concert in UK in congregation with most High Commissioners and ambassadors. He has won many awards and accolades due to his hardwork. At the moment, Sonnie’s main task is to help improve the lives of those less privileged in Africa and indeed other parts of the world. On Good Friday 21 March 2008 “Africa Worships with Sonnie Badu” was launched. It is a concert which teams up with a charity to raise awareness and aid for those in need. For 2008 efforts were focused on the beautiful country of Kenya, in support of all those that have been affected by the recent violence. Sonnie Badu soon followed in 2008 with another headlining event called ‘RAW Worship-Ignite My Fire’. It was a night of pure worship and the attendance yet again was marvelous.  He undeniably has an unfinished business with destiny; therefore watch out for more of intimate prophetic worship. He has performed in a number of countries like UK, USA, Germany, Canada and his country of origin, Ghana alongside gospel music stalwarts such as Bebe and Cece Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, Ron Kenoly, Martha Munizzi, Alvin Slaughter, Kierra Kiki Sheared, Noel Robinson, Muyiwa, Kurt Carr, Lionel Richardson, Juanita Bynum and more.
